I have a wealth of experience teaching children ballet from nursery school age (from as young as 6 months) to secondary school age. From 2006 I was employed by the Vacani Ballet School in central London, teaching classes in Notting Hill and Marylebone. The Vacani schools follow the ISTD Cecchetti Syllabus and I was delighted to hold a 100% pass rate at their school ballet examinations. I have taught at D2Dance Academy in Hildenborough and Hilden Grange school since 2015, with a focus on their junior school ballet offering.
I set up Tiny Tutus in 2008, teaching in play centres, pre schools and nurseries in Fulham, Wimbledon, Esher, Tonbridge and Hildenborough. Tiny Tutus was established with the specific intention to teach very young children the foundations of classical ballet in a fun and friendly but still structured environment. I felt that a lot of dance schools started teaching ballet too late, often not taking children before they turned 3yrs old, and that actually a lot of freedom and enjoyment in dance could be experienced in children really from as soon as they could walk.
I am a qualified ISTD ballet teacher, achieving teacher status in 2007. I trained at the Royal Ballet School as a Junior Associate for three years and subsequently boarding at the Royal Ballet Junior school, White Lodge, in Richmond Park. I was also a Cecchetti Scholar and awarded a place with London Junior Ballet. I live in Hildenborough with my husband and two daughters.
